About the Architect

  • Study

Undergraduate degree, architecture, Beijing University of Technology, Beijing, China. 1997.

  • Work

Joined the Sino-Sun Architects and Engineers, Beijing, a large architectural company holding State Class-A certificate in Engineering Design. 1997-2000.

Participated in many public, educational, residential and master planning projects, such as office, hotel, hospital, school, high-rise condominium.

Learned leadership in cooperation with other related consultants.

  • Study

Master Degree, architecture, Carleton University, Ottawa, ON. Canada, 2004.

Additional  studies in history of architecture, landscape, art and also in critical analysis.

Thesis supervisor: Paul Kariouk, practicing architect and associate professor with tenure.

  • Work

In 2005, joined Matson Britton Architects in Santa Cruz, CA.

Participated in over 20 wood-framing residential projects.

Finished IDP (Intern Development Program) with NCARB (The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) in 2009 during the same period.

  • Study

Sept. 2008 – Sept. 2009,  passed all 7 ARE exams (Architect Registration Examination) in only one year.

In April, 2010, received LEED GA certificate (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) from USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council).

In Sept, 2010, passed my oral CSE (California Supplemental Examination) in Los Angeles, CA and received California architect licensure (C32829) on Oct 25th.
